Expressions of Interest - Australian Missile Corporation (AMC)

Location: Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne offices and remote arrangements for senior appointments considered

The Australian Missile Corporation has been formed to support the Commonwealth Government’s establishment of the Sovereign Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Enterprise. Since its founding, the AMC has formed collaborative partnerships with more than 350 organisations from within Australia and around the globe, including state governments, academic institutions, Australian Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and large Australian and International companies.

OUR MISSION

The AMC’s mission is to provide the Australian Defence Force (ADF) with the guided weapons and explosive ordnance it will need to prevail on the battlefield. We will rapidly establish and coordinate the delivery of guided weapons research, design, test, manufacture, sustainment, training, storage and disposal activities across Australia.

Our vision for the Sovereign Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Enterprise is centred on responsiveness to ADF needs, acceleration of sovereign capability and efficient and resilient supply.

OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN THE TEAM:

We are interested in talking to professional engineers of varying seniority who have practical experience in any or all phases of a typical complex weapon system lifecycle including design and development, manufacturing and production, test/evaluation/certification/integration, maintenance and support, and disposal. The types of professional engineers we are interested in will be Australian citizens preferably with a current Australian Department of Defence security clearance, and will be eligible for Chartered membership of Engineers Australia. AMC engineers will also have experience and qualifications in technical domains including seeker technology, guidance and control, propulsion systems, electrical power systems, airframes and flight controls, or warheads and fuzes.

Other desirable skills and experience include:

An understanding of Defence capability development, acquisition, and sustainment programs.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop and grow relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
High levels of self-motivation and initiative.
Capacity for informed decision making and problem solving.
